KS4 Teacher - Special Educational Needs (SEN)Shirley, B90
Salary: Competitive (Dependent on Experience)

About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate KS4 Teacher to join our inclusive and supportive school in Shirley, B90. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working with students with complex needs and Severe Learning Disabilities (SLD). You will be responsible for delivering high-quality education, tailored to meet the individual needs of our students, and ensuring they receive the best possible support in their learning journey.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons to students with complex needs and SLD.
Create a safe and inclusive learning environment, fostering positive relationships with students.
Develop Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to support the diverse needs of learners.
Work closely with teaching assistants and support staff to deliver effective support.
Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to parents and the school leadership team.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists and specialists, to ensure holistic support for students.
Contribute to the development of the school's SEN provision and be an advocate for inclusive education.
Essential Criteria:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
Experience teaching students with complex needs and SLD in a secondary setting.
Knowledge of strategies for supporting students with complex learning needs, including communication strategies.
Ability to adapt teaching methods to cater to individual student needs and learning styles.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage students, parents, and colleagues.
Commitment to promoting inclusive education and celebrating diversity.
Desirable Criteria:
Experience in a specialist SEN school or unit.
Additional qualifications or training in SEN, including knowledge of alternative communication methods (e.g., Makaton, PECS).
Experience with behaviour management in a SEN context.
