Job description
Are you looking for a rewarding role as a SENCO in a welcoming secondary school in Preston?Aspire People are in partnership with a secondary school in Preston who are seeking a qualified and experienced SENCO to join their friendly team starting ASAP, full time and on a long-term temporary position with the potential of becoming permanent for the right candidate.
The role involves:
* Developing and implementing the school's SEN policy and provision
* Leading and managing a team of SEN teachers and support assistants
* Providing professional guidance and training to staff on how to support students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)
* Assessing and monitoring the progress and attainment of students with SEND
* Liaising with parents, carers, external agencies and other schools to ensure effective communication and collaboration
* Ensuring that the school complies with the latest statutory requirements and best practices for SEND
A successful candidate will need:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a recognised SENCO qualification
* Experience of working as a SENCO in a secondary school setting
* Knowledge and understanding of the current SEND legislation, policies and procedures
* Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
* A commitment to inclusion and diversity
* A passion for supporting students with SEND and helping them achieve their potential
All candidates who register with Aspire People will have 2 years referencing taken up and will be required to have an enhanced DBS check completed and must be on the update service.
