About the Role:
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support secondary-aged students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) at a thriving school in Warwick. As a key member of the team, you will be helping students with a range of additional learning needs to access the curriculum, engage with lessons, and develop vital life skills in an inclusive and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with SEN across a range of subjects.
Assist with lesson delivery, ensuring students are fully included and supported.
Promote positive behaviour and independence within the classroom setting.
Help adapt teaching materials to meet individual learning needs.
Support students in social and emotional development, promoting confidence and well-being.
Work closely with teachers, SENCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator), and other staff to create tailored learning plans.
Monitor and report on student progress to ensure effective interventions are in place.
The Ideal Candidate:
Experience working with secondary-aged students with SEN (desirable, but not essential).
A passion for supporting young people and helping them achieve their potential.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents.
Patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to working with young people.
Ability to work as part of a team and independently when required.
An understanding of safeguarding policies and best practices.
Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or a related field) are desirable.
