Job description
We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to support our pupils in accessing a broad, meaningful, and engaging curriculum tailored to their individual needs.Key Responsibilities:
-Work one-to-one or in small groups with pupils under the direction of the class teacher and therapists.
-Support pupils with personal care needs, feeding, mobility, and use of assistive technologies.
-Assist in managing challenging behaviour in a positive and therapeutic manner.
-Promote independence, communication, and life skills through tailored interventions and routines.
-Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, families, and other support staff to ensure a consistent and holistic approach to learning and development.
-Maintain accurate records and contribute to reports and reviews as needed.
About You
Essential:
-A genuine passion for working with children with complex SEN.
-Patience, empathy, resilience, and a strong sense of humour.
-Good communication and interpersonal skills.
-Ability to follow direction while also using initiative.
-A willingness to learn and take part in ongoing CPD and training (e.g., Team Teach, PECS, Makaton, Moving & Handling).
Desirable:
-Previous experience working in an SEN environment.
-Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, Teaching Assistant Certificate, or equivalent).
-Knowledge of autism, sensory integration, or therapeutic approaches.
