The Role
As a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be a vital part of the support network for students with a variety of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH), and speech and language challenges.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Providing academic and emotional support on a one-to-one and small group basis
* Assisting in adapting lesson materials to meet individual learning needs
* Supporting students' social development and emotional regulation
* Helping maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment
* Monitoring progress and assisting in the implementation of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
This is a permanent role, offering long-term professional development rather than short-term cover.
Who We're Looking For
We are keen to hear from graduates who:
* Hold a 2:1 degree or higher in Psychology, Education, or a closely related subject
* Have previous experience working with children or young people in schools, care settings, or through voluntary work
* Are passionate about SEN and committed to promoting inclusive education
* Are empathetic, patient, and motivated by helping others succeed
* Are considering long-term careers in education, SEN, or therapeutic professions
