Aspire People is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join our team, working with students from Key Stage 2 (KS2) to Key Stage 4 (KS4). This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of students with a range of special educational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Support SEN Students: Work with students with diverse learning needs, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and more, to help them engage with the curriculum and achieve their potential.
Tailored Assistance: Provide both one-on-one and group support, adapting learning materials and activities to suit the needs of individual students.
Classroom Management: Assist the class teacher in maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment, promoting students' social and emotional development.
Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, school leaders, and external professionals to ensure the well-being and academic progress of students.
Personal Care: Provide personal care assistance where necessary, always ensuring respect, dignity, and independence.
IEP Support: Assist in the creation, implementation, and review of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to track student progress and adjust learning strategies.
Parent Liaison: Communicate effectively with parents and carers to share updates on student progress and provide advice on supporting learning at home.
About You:
Experience: Previous experience working with students with special educational needs, ideally in a school setting (KS2 and KS4 experience preferred).
Knowledge: Understanding of SEN, including common conditions like autism, ADHD, and dyslexia.
Skills: Excellent communication skills, patience, and a positive, proactive approach to student support.
Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in education or special needs support (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant Qualification, Autism Awareness, etc.).
Personal Attributes: Empathetic, compassionate, and driven by a desire to help students reach their full potential.
