Job description
Aspire are working closely with modern SEN community school in Shrewsbury is looking for experienced full-time SEN Tas.This class already has three SEN Teaching assistants and responsibilities for the class will eventually be shared amongst all four of the SEN Teaching assistants who will be working as a team to support this class.
This school prides itself on its progressive, safe and calm learning environment. Experience is by no means required, so this is a great opportunity if you're looking to kick start a career in special education or just develop your existing skills further.
The school's hours for this role are 8.30am - 3.15pm
The ideal SEN Teaching Assistant should:
* Have experience or a passion for working with children with SEN
* Be flexible, proactive and patient
* Be nurturing and caring in your approaches
* Be able to communicate effectively within a team
* Be open to providing personal care
* Have a Background in Education, Care, Psychology or Drama, as these are very transferable.
* Training or experience in non-verbal communication is preferred, but a willingness to learn is essential. For example Makaton, PECS
