Location: Warwick, Warwickshire
Hours: Full-time (term-time only)
Start Date: ASAP or negotiable
Salary: £85-£100 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)
About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated SEMH Behaviour Teaching Assistant to work in a supportive and forward-thinking school in Warwick. You will be working 1:1 or with small groups of pupils who exhibit challenging behaviour due to a range of social, emotional, or mental health (SEMH) needs.
This is a rewarding and dynamic role ideal for someone with experience in behaviour management, youth work, special education, or a similar field.
Key Responsibilities:
Support pupils in developing positive behaviour strategies
Work closely with teachers and SENCO to implement individual behaviour plans
Build trusting relationships with pupils to help them feel safe and supported
Promote emotional wellbeing and social development
Assist with classroom activities and learning goals
What We're Looking For:
Experience working with children or young people with challenging behaviour (in schools, youth work, or care settings)
A calm, compassionate, and firm approach
Strong communication and de-escalation skills
A genuine passion for inclusion and helping every child reach their potential
Team player with a flexible attitude
Desirable (but not essential):
Team Teach or similar behaviour management training
Knowledge of SEMH, ASD, ADHD, or trauma-informed approaches
Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE, NVQ, Psychology degree, etc.)
