Job Title: SEMH Teacher - Post 16Location: B12, Balsall Heath
Contract Type: Full-Time / Long-Term
Start Date: September 2025
Are you a dedicated teacher with experience supporting young people facing social, emotional, and mental health challenges? We are recruiting for an experienced SEMH Teacher to work with post-16 learners at a specialist provision in the Balsall Heath area of Birmingham.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver tailored lessons to small groups of post-16 students with SEMH needs.
* Create a nurturing and structured environment that promotes positive behaviour and emotional resilience.
* Work closely with support staff, pastoral teams, and external agencies to meet individual needs.
* Develop engaging, accessible content focused on life skills, functional English and maths, and employability.
Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or relevant post-16 teaching qualifications.
* Experience working with SEMH or challenging behaviour in an educational setting.
* Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
* A calm, consistent, and empathetic approach.
* Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
