Position: SEMH Specialist (Full-Time)

Aspire People are currently seeking experienced and compassionate SEMH Specialists to join schools in Kings Heath, Selly Oak, Acocks Green, and Solihull on a full-time basis. If you have a passion for supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and are looking for a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of young people, this is the role for you!

About the Role: As an SEMH Specialist, you will work across a range of primary and secondary schools, providing tailored support to students with emotional, social, and mental health needs. Your role will be crucial in helping these students access education and manage their emotions and behaviour in a safe and supportive environment.
You will work closely with other teachers, teaching assistants, and support staff to implement effective strategies and interventions. Your goal will be to ensure that every student receives the support they need to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:
* Provide targeted support to students with SEMH needs, ensuring they can fully engage in learning and school life.
* Deliver individual and small group sessions to support emotional regulation, social skills, and behaviour management.
* Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to create personalised strategies and interventions.
* Foster a positive and nurturing environment, helping students build self-esteem, resilience, and emotional wellbeing.
* Develop and implement behaviour management plans and interventions tailored to individual students.
* Monitor and track student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers, parents, and other professionals.
* Promote inclusion and ensure students with SEMH needs are fully integrated into class activities.
* Act as a role model for students, demonstrating positive behaviours and strategies for managing emotions.

What We Offer:
* Full-time, long-term positions in schools across Kings Heath, Selly Oak, Acocks Green, and Solihull.
* The opportunity to work in inclusive, supportive school environments with a focus on the emotional and mental wellbeing of students.
* A chance to make a real difference in the lives of students with SEMH and help them succeed academically and socially.
* Ongoing professional development and support from Aspire People to help you grow in your role.
* Competitive pay rates, with flexibility based on experience and qualifications.

What You'll Need:
* Proven experience working with SEMH students (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) in a school or educational setting.
* A calm and patient approach, with the ability to work effectively with students who may display challenging behaviour.
* Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and how to support emotional and social development.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents.
* A genuine passion for working with young people and helping them overcome barriers to learning.
* A commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive environment for all students.
