Job Description:
We are in needs for a Science teacher to join our dynamic and forward-thinking team in a Staffordshire secondary schools. This full-time role will see you teach a broad range of Science topics across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics to students in Key Stage 3 and 4. The successful candidate will be committed to delivering engaging and high-impact lessons, helping students develop a strong understanding of scientific principles, and preparing them for their GCSE exams.
We are looking for someone with the passion to inspire students in the sciences and a dedication to raising standards of achievement and behaviour. As part of the Science department, you will contribute to a collaborative and innovative approach to teaching and learning.
Key Responsibilities:
Planning, preparing, and delivering high-quality lessons in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics to KS3 and KS4 students.
Developing and implementing differentiated learning strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
Using a variety of teaching methods (practical, theoretical, and digital) to engage students in the subject matter.
Regularly assessing student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback and setting challenging targets.
Supporting students in their GCSE exam preparation, including the delivery of revision lessons and supporting extracurricular activities like science clubs or trips.
Managing classroom behaviour effectively and ensuring a positive, focused learning environment.
Contributing to the Science department's continuous improvement, sharing best practices, and collaborating with colleagues.
Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the Science curriculum and any changes to exam specifications.
Requirements:
QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent.
Proven experience teaching Science at Key Stage 3 and 4, including GCSE level.
Strong knowledge across all three Science disciplines (Biology, Chemistry, and Physics).
Excellent organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
A passion for Science and an ability to inspire students to achieve their best.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
