Job description
Science Teacher - Term-Time OnlyAre you an experienced Science Teacher looking for a meaningful teaching role outside the mainstream system - where your work has direct, visible impact?
Aspire people are working with a specialist independent school near Shifnal that is looking for a committed and enthusiastic Science Teacher to join their close-knit team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who thrives in a therapeutic, student-centred environment and is passionate about making science accessible and inspiring for all learners.
The Role
You'll be delivering engaging and differentiated science lessons to small groups of pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs. This is a non-mainstream teaching environment, so class sizes are small, behaviour is supported by trauma-informed practices, and the pace is shaped by the needs of the learners.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Planning and delivering engaging science lessons tailored to individual learning needs
- Monitoring and reporting on student progress
- Leading on curriculum development within science across relevant key stages
- Working collaboratively with support staff and care teams to deliver a holistic learning experience
- Creating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
- Contributing to whole-school development initiatives and supporting each learner's EHCP goals
Who We're Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- A strong grasp of science across Key Stages 3-4 (or willingness to adapt based on student need)
- Experience working with students with additional needs (preferred, not essential)
- Someone who brings creativity, resilience, and a nurturing approach to their teaching
- A team player who is open to continuous professional learning and a trauma-informed approach
Why This Role?
This role offers far more than a standard teaching post. You'll have the time, support, and environment to truly make a difference - supported by a team who are just as committed to the progress and wellbeing of their students as you are.
If you're a qualified Science Teacher looking for a rewarding, term-time only role that aligns with your values and teaching philosophy, I'd love to speak with you.
