Vacancy: Religious Education TeacherLocation: Telford, Shropshire
Start Date: September 2025
A well-established and forward-thinking secondary school in Telford is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Religious Education Teacher to join their dynamic and supportive faculty from September 2025. This is a full-time, permanent position suitable for both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who are passionate about inspiring students through the study of religious beliefs, values, and practices.
Role Overview:
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Religious Education (RE) across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with the possibility of teaching Key Stage 5 for a suitably experienced candidate. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire students in the study of world religions, ethics, and philosophy, preparing them for both exams and life beyond school.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging and stimulating RE lessons that meet the needs of all students
Promote an understanding of different faiths, religious beliefs, and moral issues
Foster critical thinking and reflection on ethical, philosophical, and spiritual matters
Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular and constructive feedback
Contribute to the ongoing development and enrichment of the RE curriculum
Support extracurricular activities such as faith-based clubs, trips, and events
Maintain high standards of behaviour and create an inclusive learning environment
Person Specification:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
A degree in Religious Education, Theology, Philosophy, or a related subject
Strong subject knowledge and a passion for teaching RE
Ability to engage and motivate students with diverse beliefs and backgrounds
Excellent communication, organisational, and classroom management skills
A commitment to the personal and academic development of students
