Job description
Pupil Referral Unit Teaching AssistantAre you able to work to support small groups of children in the classroom? Are you passionate and nurturing, committed to working with children who demonstrate challenging behaviour? Do you have experience working in a Pupil Referral Unit environment, or with children demonstrating challenging behaviour? Are you able to inspire and motivate pupils with learning difficulties, or social, emotional, and mental health difficulties?
About the school:
* This school is for Primary students aged who have been excluded from mainstream education
* All staff are Team Teach trained and regularly receive up to date training to support with pupil's safety and wellbeing
* This pupil referral unit works closely with other schools and agencies to ensure pupils get a range of support
* The school offer a range of engaging trips which are both onsite and offsite
About you:
* You are experienced with supporting pupils with behaviour difficulties
* You must have experience working 1:1 with pupils
* You must have a minimum of 12 months experience within special educational needs
* You must have a fair but firm approach and understand the student's barriers to learning
