Aspire People is proud to be working in partnership with a highly respected secondary all-boys school in Bury, Manchester, who are seeking a Part-Time Assistant SENCO to support their thriving SEN department.
We are looking for a committed and organised individual with a strong background in Special Educational Needs to assist the school SENCO in delivering high-quality provision for students with additional needs. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people and experienced in coordinating Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and funding applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the SENCO in managing and reviewing EHCPs and coordinating annual reviews.
- Assist with writing and submitting high-quality funding applications.
- Maintain up-to-date records and documentation in line with local authority and DfE requirements.
- Liaise with external agencies, parents, and staff to ensure the needs of pupils are met.
- Support the implementation and monitoring of personalised learning plans.
- Provide general administrative and strategic support to the SENCO.
Essential Requirements:
- Relevant qualifications in Special Educational Needs (e.g., NASENCO qualification is highly desirable).
- Experience working within a secondary school setting, ideally in a SENCO or SEN support role.
- Strong understanding of the EHCP process and experience with funding applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and excellent organisational ability.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required.
