🌟 Now Hiring: One to One Teaching and Learning Assistant 🌟Do you want to play a vital role in helping children thrive in the classroom?
We are working to support a mainstream primary school in the Tunstall area that is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic One to One Teaching Assistant to join their Key Stage 2 team in January 2025.
What You'll Be Doing: Key Responsibilities
As a Learning Support Assistant, you'll play a central role in supporting both teaching staff and pupils on a day-to-day basis. Your responsibilities will include:
- Working closely with class teachers to deliver targeted learning support across Key Stage 2.
- Providing 1:1 or small group interventions for pupils who need additional help with literacy, numeracy, or social/emotional development.
- Assisting in the preparation and delivery of lesson materials to ensure all learners can access the curriculum.
- Supporting pupils with SEN or specific learning needs, using strategies tailored to individual education plans (IEPs).
- Encouraging pupil engagement by building positive relationships and promoting independence and confidence.
- Monitoring and recording pupil progress, feeding back to teachers and supporting in planning next steps.
- Promoting positive behaviour management strategies in line with school policies.
- Being a positive role model and upholding the school's values, safeguarding standards, and inclusive ethos.
We're Looking For Someone Who…
- Has experience working with primary-aged children, particularly in Key Stage 2 (school-based or similar settings preferred).
- Is confident supporting children with varying abilities, including those with SEN.
-Is calm, patient, and adaptable, especially when working with pupils who may present behavioural or learning challenges.
- Can think on their feet and use their initiative to adapt support as needed.
- Is a great communicator - able to liaise with teachers, parents, and external professionals.
- Believes in every child's potential and is committed to helping them succeed both academically and emotionally.
- Holds or is working towards a relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
