Aspire People are supporting a well-established and inclusive primary school in the Stoke-on-Trent area in their search for a One-to-One Teaching and Learning Assistant to join their Early Years team this September.
This full time, term-time only role offers the rewarding opportunity to work closely with a child in Reception, supporting their educational, social, and emotional development in alignment with their Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide dedicated one-to-one support to a pupil within the Reception class, both in whole-class activities and small group settings.
- Adapt and tailor learning activities to meet the child's specific needs and ensure access to a differentiated curriculum.
- Collaborate closely with the SENCO, class teacher, and external professionals to implement a personalised programme of support and meet EHCP targets.
- Promote a positive, nurturing relationship with the child, building trust and confidence in the school setting.
- Support the child's personal care and day-to-day needs in a sensitive and respectful manner.
- Be proactive and flexible in your role, responding to changing needs and contributing to the wider team where needed.
Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, ideally in an Early Years or SEN setting.
- A patient, empathetic, and enthusiastic approach to supporting young children with additional needs.
- Knowledge of EHCPs and experience supporting children with developmental, social, or medical needs would be highly beneficial.
- Relevant TA qualifications (e.g. Level 2 or Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning) preferred.
Why Apply?
- This is an excellent opportunity for a nurturing and skilled practitioner to make a meaningful impact in a child's early learning journey, within a supportive and welcoming school environment.
- If you're passionate about inclusive education and supporting children to thrive, we would love to hear from you.
