Job Title: Mandarin Speaking Teaching AssistantLocation: Milton Keynes
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Options for Full Time or 1 hour per day available
Salary: £90 - £100 per day dependant on experience
Here at Aspire People, we are seeking a Mandarin Speaking Teaching Assistant to join a diverse and inclusive secondary school. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and caring individual who can help support a student who speaks Mandarin as their first language, while also assisting more broadly across the curriculum. You will need to be able speak Mandarin to a conversational level whilst also being able to support them with their learning across the curriculum.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 support to a Mandarin speaking pupil
* Support generally in classes as well as in small group and 1:1 settings
* Support the class teacher with planning and delivering engaging lessons
* Help the pupil to overcome language barriers and build confidence in English
* Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback
* Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
The ideal candidate will have:
* Fluency in Mandarin (spoken is essential and written would be beneficial)
* Good level of spoken and written English
* Experience working with young people in an educational setting, such as a Teaching Assistant, Tutor, Youth Worker etc
* A patient, supportive, and enthusiastic approach
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
