We are currently seeking a motivated Key Stage 2 (KS2) Teaching Assistant for a school in Solihull (B90), starting in January 2025. The Role:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated KS2 Teaching Assistant to support children in Year 3 to Year 6. As a teaching assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to support the delivery of lessons, help with classroom management, and provide targeted support to pupils, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
You will play a crucial role in creating a positive, nurturing environment where every child can reach their full potential. The ideal candidate will be passionate about working with children and have experience or a strong understanding of supporting pupils in Key Stage 2.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the class teacher in planning, preparing, and delivering engaging lessons in KS2.
Support children's learning both individually and in small groups, adapting tasks to meet their needs.
Help children develop their social, emotional, and academic skills through targeted interventions and support.
Provide one-to-one support for children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), as directed by the teacher.
Support children with their literacy and numeracy development, ensuring that all students make progress.
Help create a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment.
Assist with the monitoring and recording of student progress.
Support the teacher with classroom displays, administrative tasks, and maintaining resources.
Key Requirements:
Experience working with children in an educational setting, ideally in Key Stage 2.
A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is desirable.
Strong understanding of the KS2 curriculum and the ability to support children across a range of subjects.
Ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents.
Patience, flexibility, and the ability to work as part of a team.
Knowledge of Special Educational Needs (SEN) is an advantage.
