This is a fantastic chance to contribute to the academic and personal development of students, providing key support to the teaching team and ensuring a positive, inclusive learning environment.

Role: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Location: Oldham/Manchester
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
Start Date: ASAP

About the Role:

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), you will provide high-quality support to teachers in the classroom, working with students individually, in small groups, and across whole classes. You will assist in the delivery of lessons, help to manage classroom behaviour, and provide targeted interventions to students who need extra support, particularly those with additional learning needs.

Your role will be vital in ensuring that all students, regardless of ability or background, can access the curriculum and achieve their full potential. You will work closely with the teaching staff to provide tailored learning experiences, encourage positive student behaviour, and help foster a nurturing and productive school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Support the delivery of lessons by assisting with classroom management and helping students with their learning.

- Provide targeted support for students with additional needs, ensuring they are fully included in lessons and school life.

- Lead small group interventions, focusing on students who require extra help in specific subject areas.

- Provide supervision of classes during short-term teacher absences, ensuring students continue to engage in productive learning.

- Assist in the preparation of teaching materials and resources, ensuring lessons run smoothly.

- Track and monitor student progress, providing feedback to teachers and supporting the implementation of appropriate interventions.

- Support the pastoral care of students, building positive relationships and helping students manage their social and emotional development.

- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to deliver personalised learning support.

About You:

- The ideal candidate will be an experienced and dedicated individual who is passionate about supporting student learning and development. You should have:

- A recognised HLTA qualification or equivalent experience working in an educational setting.

- Experience working in a secondary school environment, providing support in the classroom and with individual students.

- A good understanding of the National Curriculum and strategies for supporting students with additional needs.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage students and build effective relationships with staff.

- A proactive and flexible approach to supporting students in a variety of learning environments.

- An ability to work effectively as part of a team and use your initiative to address challenges.

Why Join This School?

- Be part of a supportive and inclusive school community that values collaboration and continuous improvement.

- Work with a team of committed professionals who are passionate about helping students succeed.

- Enjoy opportunities for professional development and training to enhance your career.

- Make a real impact on student outcomes and be part of a school culture that prioritises both academic and personal development.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join a forward-thinking school and make a significant contribution to the learning experience of students. If you are passionate about education and enjoy working in a dynamic environment, we would love to hear from you.
