We are seeking to appoint a highly skilled and dedicated Design & Technology Teacher to join our respected and dynamic faculty from September 2025. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a passion for creativity and innovation in young learners, and for delivering high-quality teaching within a well-equipped and supportive environment.
Role Overview:
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive and engaging Design & Technology curriculum to students at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with the potential for teaching at Key Stage 5 for an experienced practitioner. The role involves planning and delivering lessons in a variety of design disciplines, including product design, resistant materials, and engineering. As a key member of the team, you will work collaboratively to maintain high academic standards and encourage student growth and achievement.
Key Responsibilities:
Teach Design & Technology across Key Stage 3 and 4 (and potentially Key Stage 5)
Develop and implement effective lesson plans and schemes of work
Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, providing constructive feedback
Promote a safe and conducive learning environment, ensuring high standards of discipline and engagement
Contribute to departmental meetings, planning, and curriculum development
Engage with professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices
Essential Criteria:
A qualified teacher with QTS (or equivalent)
A proven track record in teaching Design & Technology at secondary level
Sound knowledge of the national curriculum and exam specifications
Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills
A commitment to providing a stimulating and challenging learning experience for all students
