Job descriptionI am looking for Cover Supervisors to work in secondary schools in Coventry and Warwickshire.
If you are looking for a route into teaching and want to gain experience before doing a PGCE then I can help. I work with a large number of secondary schools in Coventry and Warwickshire that use cover supervisors for their sickness cover. The work is very flexible and it's my job to find you work on the days you are free. It is an ideal way to get paid teaching experience before doing a PGCE. Being a Cover Supervisor gives you an insight into school life and gives you the opportunity to see beyond the school gates and into the classroom. It is a great way to see if the teaching profession is for you and is your future career. A Cover Supervisor role will arm you with all the information you need to go forward but it is also a rewarding role with flexibility to suit your needs and you can also work it around your own commitments and daily life.
Briefly, the role comprises:
*Providing cover for short term absences of a teacher
*Supervising work that has been set
*Managing the behaviour of pupils
*Dealing with immediate problems or emergencies according to school policies
*Provide additional support in classrooms
*Help out in other duties when needed such as lunch time, registrations, detentions and reception
Ideally you will educated to degree level and if you do have previous experience of Cover Supervisor work that would be very advantageous.
*Hours are from 8.30 - 3.30 Monday to Friday (you choose the days you wish to work)
