Location: Coventry
Contract Type: Full-time / Term-time only
Salary: £75-£95 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: ASAP / September 2025 (flexible for the right candidate)
Are you passionate about supporting students with complex needs? Do you have the empathy, patience, and resilience to help learners reach their full potential? We are seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a warm and welcoming specialist school in Coventry.
About the Role:
As a key member of the support team, you will work closely with teaching staff and therapists to deliver personalised support to pupils with a range of complex needs, including autism, PMLD, SEMH, and medical needs. You will:
Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual learning and emotional needs
Assist with personal care, mobility, and therapy programmes where required
Use creative approaches to promote communication, independence, and engagement
Be a positive, calming presence who builds strong, trusting relationships
Ideal Candidate:
Experience working with children or young people with SEND, particularly complex needs
A compassionate, patient, and flexible attitude
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, Team Teach, Makaton) are desirable but not essential
A willingness to learn and grow with ongoing professional development
