Assistant Head Teacher (with Teaching Responsibility)Location: Turves Green
Contract: Full Time - 05/01/2025 to 17/07/2025 (with the possibility of becoming permanent for the right candidate)
Are you an ambitious, dedicated and forward-thinking leader looking to make a real impact in a warm and inclusive primary school? We are seeking an Assistant Head Teacher to join our team from January 2025, with a blend of leadership and hands-on teaching responsibilities.
As Assistant Head Teacher, you will play a key part in shaping the strategic direction of the school while supporting high-quality teaching and learning across the setting. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher or emerging leader ready to take the next step.
Your role will include:
* 3 days out of class, supporting school improvement, coaching staff and contributing to whole-school development.
* 2 days teaching and supporting phonics in Year 1, delivering high-quality sessions and raising attainment.
* Taking on Senior Leadership Team (SLT) responsibilities, contributing to decision-making and supporting the operational and strategic needs of the school.
* Leading on behaviour management, modelling best practice and working collaboratively with staff to maintain a positive, inclusive learning environment.

* Is an excellent classroom practitioner with a strong understanding of early reading and phonics.
* Has proven leadership skills or is ready to step into a leadership role with confidence and ambition.
