Position: 1:1 Teaching Assistant - Full-timeLocation: Kensington, Liverpool
Start Date: ASAP (trial basis) - January 2026 to July 2026
Salary: £90 - £105 per day (dependent on experience)
Aspire People are working closely with a supportive Primary School near Kensington, Liverpool, who are seeking a committed and resilient 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a child in Year 6 with ADHD. The role will begin on a trial basis as soon as possible, with a confirmed long-term position from January 2026 for the right candidate.
The successful applicant will work closely with the class teacher, SENDCo, and external agencies to provide consistent, structured support, helping the pupil manage their emotions, develop self-regulation strategies, and make progress both academically and socially.
The role:
- Providing 1:1 support for a Year 6 pupil diagnosed with ADHD
- Supporting the child to remain engaged and focused during lessons
- Implementing behaviour strategies to help the pupil manage dysregulation
- Creating a calm, safe, and predictable learning environment
- Working collaboratively with teaching staff and the SENDCo to follow the child's support plan
- Encouraging positive routines, clear expectations, and reflective thinking
- Supporting with emotional regulation, social skills, and confidence-building
- Maintaining clear, consistent communication with school staff regarding progress and concerns
What we're looking for:
- Experience supporting children with ADHD or behaviour challenges
- A calm, patient, and nurturing approach
- Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
- The ability to build trust and positive working relationships quickly
- A proactive attitude and willingness to adapt strategies when needed
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- The ability to provide two professional references
- Have, or be willing to obtain, an Enhanced DBS check
