Teaching Assistant - Early Years & SEND (Part-Time)Location: Staffordshire Area
Start Date: 1st September 2025
Contract: Term-Time Only
Hours: 16 hours per week
Contract Type: Temporary - Supporting a Child with an EHCP
Aspire People are currently looking for staff to join a well-regarded and inclusive primary school in the Staffordshire area, seeking an experienced and dedicated Teaching Assistant to support a child with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) in the Early Years setting.
This part-time role is ideal for a professional with a background in supporting children with special educational needs, particularly autism, and a strong understanding of the Early Years curriculum. The position will involve working closely with the class teacher and wider school staff to deliver tailored, child-centred support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver 1:1 support to a child with additional needs, under the direction of the class teacher
- Contribute to the planning and implementation of learning activities
- Support the development and review of Provision Maps and Personal Care Plans
- Provide pastoral care and promote emotional well-being
- Encourage inclusion, interaction, and active participation in class activities
- Assist with personal care as needed
Requirements:
- Proven experience working with children with SEND, particularly within Early Years
- Knowledge of EYFS and effective SEND strategies
- Flexible, adaptable and child-centred approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
