Its all change as GTC closes & “TEACHING AGENCY” takes over
In October 2010, the government announced the outcomes of a review of all public bodies including the GTC. Of 900 bodies, more than half were to be reformed with the aim of saving at least £2.6 billion and a further £30 billion by reducing spending. The GTC closes in March and the all new “Teaching Agency” will take over its responsibilities from 1st April 2012.
