About the Role:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Qualified SEN Teacher to join a supportive secondary school in the Milton Keynes area. This role involves working with students aged 11-16 who have a range of Special Educational Needs, including ADHD, Autism, and complex learning needs.
You will play a vital role in delivering tailored, engaging lessons that support both the academic progress and personal development of students. The ideal candidate will be committed to creating an inclusive, structured, and nurturing learning environment where every student can thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver differentiated lessons that meet individual learning needs
Support students with ADHD, Autism, and complex needs through personalised strategies
Develop and implement EHCP targets and behaviour support plans
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and external professionals
Monitor, assess, and report on student progress
Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment
Support students' social, emotional, and communication development
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Experience working with secondary-aged students with SEN, particularly ADHD and Autism
Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and inclusive teaching practices
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Patience, resilience, and a genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs
Desirable:
SEN specialism or additional qualifications (e.g. NASENCo, SEND training)
Experience working with complex needs and/or sensory processing difficulties
Knowledge of alternative communication methods (e.g. PECS, Makaton)
