Job descriptionAre you qualified Level 3 Teaching Assistant with a background in Special educational needs either in mainstream or SEN schools.
I am working with a 2 form entry school in Erdington who are currently looking for a Teaching Assistant to work with a child with suspected Autism within a Year 3 class . This particular child struggles within a mainstream environment and uses certain resources to keep him on task and calm. The suitable teaching assistant will have a good understanding of the triggers of Autism and be able to recognise when the child needs "time out" and take initiative to move them to a safer environment. The child is high ability but sometimes finds its difficult to communicate their feelings so needs an empathetic ear.
The position is commencing after October half term and is ongoing until potentially July
Candidates will be required to have the following:
-Experience in Key Stage 2
-NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education
-Calm and caring approach
