Job description
Are you experienced in working with children who present with social and emotional needs? Are you looking for your next role within education? Are you available on a Full time Basis?Aspire People are currently looking for a KS1 Teaching assistant with relevant SEN experience to work at a lovely school based in Ilkeston, Derbyshire. This is a full time position starting in September 2021 on a fixed term contract of once year with the scope to go permanent for the right person.
About the school
It is the policy of the school to provide equal access to all areas of the curriculum for all our pupils. They aim to provide a curriculum which is broad and balanced with an emphasis on the basic skills which are intrinsic to every aspect of the curriculum and everyday life.

The main duties within the role will be:
- Supporting children across KS1 who present with SEMH
- Working on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Using sensory areas within school to reduce anxiety and improve engagement
- Liaising with the school SENCO & class teacher around progress of pupils
- Speaking with parents at the end of each day about pupil progress
Suitable candidates will have:
-relevant qualification or at least one years' experience
-Possess an understanding of supporting children with special educational needs
-Are hard working, punctual and reliable
-can provide us with two references which will rate as outstanding
