We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant to support the development of our youngest learners, helping them build a strong foundation for their future success.
Role Overview:
As a Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers to support students in Years 1 and 2. You will assist with the delivery of the curriculum, support children on a one-to-one basis or in small groups, and provide additional assistance to children who may need extra support with their learning and development. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of young learners in a friendly and welcoming school community.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom management
Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils, particularly those who need additional help
Assist in the development of differentiated learning activities and resources
Support students with social and emotional development, helping them to develop positive relationships and self-confidence
Monitor and track the progress of children, providing feedback to the class teacher as required
Help with the creation and maintenance of a stimulating and safe classroom environment
Promote positive behaviour and engage with children in a supportive and encouraging way
Assist with administrative tasks, such as preparing learning materials and maintaining student records
Foster a caring, inclusive, and positive atmosphere in the classroom
Key Requirements:
A passion for working with young children and helping them to succeed
Previous experience working with children, preferably in a Key Stage 1 setting
A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) is desirable but not essential
An understanding of the National Curriculum and early years education
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children and staff
Patience, creativity, and a nurturing approach
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
