The Coleshill School Brings SPIRIT to Their Curriculum
The Coleshill School create new S.P.I.R.I.T scheme to communicate cohesion in the community
At the heart of every community is a school. The staff and students of The Coleshill School take their role, within the working community, very seriously and have implemented a clever way to communicate this new ethos to everyone.
Self-management, Perseverance, Innovation, Reflection, Independence and Team-work, or simply put S.P.I.R.I.T., is the acronym the Business and Enterprise Academy use to convey the message of the importance of accumulating good work skills.
Through various events the students have demonstrated their newly honed skills by raising funds for chosen charities, putting together winning sports teams, organising functions and embracing the school’s new Vertical Tutoring system. The VT House system now has students from all year groups in one tutor base and it unites their beliefs in teamwork and gives the children the competitive spark that can push them to succeed.
Many lessons will involve the teachings of SPIRIT. Challenging students in all that they do and the importance of not giving up on a task, encouraging the setting of personal goals as well as reaching the ones set by their teachers are strengths that the school want to develop in all of their charges.
