The Black Country's Little Success Stories

Students from Earls High SchoolHalesowen, have collected Christmas presents for the ‘Give a Gift Bag’, an appeal for the children’s ward at Russells Hall Hospital. The fund raising was organised by Mrs Dimmock and Mrs Lennon, both Heads of Hingley House at the School.

 
Outstanding students were honoured for their achievements at a student of the year ceremony in December. It took place at The City Of  Wolverhampton College’s Construction and Innovation Centre. 150 people attended with former Wolves Goalkeeper Matt Murray handing out awards.
 
The Creation of an £18 million new development in Dudley College has taken a major step to being complete with the steel frame now in place. The centre named Dudley Evolve will open for next September. 
 
The number of students applying to the University  of  Wolverhampton is up by almost 15%, bucking the national trend that shows applications are down by 23,000 A total of 12, 201 applications have been received for this academic year. 2 years ago applications were at 919.
 
Students & staff at Sandwell Academy in West Bromwich were celebrating after being rated outstanding at a recent inspection. The school were praised for their innovative curriculum & well behaved pupils.   
 
Redhill Foundation School, Stourbridge has been given an Outstanding in a OFSTED Inspection.
 
Winterfold House School in Chaddesley Corbett was honoured with a recent visit from Prince Edward The Earl of Essex. The Prince  arrived in style landing his helicopter on the school playing fields. He was greeted by hundreds of excited pupils waving their flags. Winterfold House got a well deserved visit from the Prince because of their recent fund raising efforts. The school managed to  raise £35,000 for Ncemaneni Primary School in South Africa.
