Job Description.
Aspire People are looking to register ICT Technicians for day to day, temporary and Permanent positions to work within Primary and Secondary schools in the West Midlands as and when required.

To be able to be considered for such positions, applicants must either have a CRB that is dated within the last 12 months or be willing to pay for a new application at the cost of GBP44.00

Experience is essential. The positions we work on can vary, therefore you may be called for short-term cover or long-term cover. We occasionally do deal with casual day cover. You will be determined, enthusiastic and driven!

Duties

Develop effective liaison with ICT contractors, hardware and software suppliers, etc.
* Liaise with the subject leaders and other managers in order to assist in providing the best solutions to their
particular ICT needs.
* Work with the network manager to inform the ICT policy, practices, expectations and targets within the
School.
* Contribute to the formation of the ICT development plan and strategies with an emphasis on improving the
use of ICT across the School.
* Assist with the supply, installation, maintenance and repair of the School's ICT hardware and information
systems.
* Ensure an up-to-date inventory is kept of all the School's computer hardware.
* Maintain computer peripheral equipment (scanners, printers, etc.).
* Follow ICT suppliers' recommended procedures.
* Assist with the installation and testing of new software.
* Ensure the School's software is available to appropriate users.
* Ensure an up-to-date inventory is kept of all the School's computer software and licences, including
registering software and checking that all licences are valid.
* Ensure that a log is kept of all the technical faults that occur with the School's computer equipment
(hardware and software).
* Ensure the School's anti-virus, firewall and anti-spyware software is properly installed, kept up-to-date and
working properly.
* Assist the Network Manager to advise the Headteacher and Business Manager of likely priorities for ICT
expenditure.
* Assist with informing the network manager of expenditure forecasts for the School's ICT consumables
budget, ensuring the principals of best value.
* Assist with the ordering and distribution of consumables.
