Aspire people are looking to register School Food Technicians to work in Primary and Secondary schools in Dudley on either a Temporary, permanent or full time basis Applicants must be able to travel to the Dudley area and will require to obtain a CRB
Experience is essential. The positions we work on can vary, therefore you may be called for short-term cover or long-term cover. Occasionally we do deal with casual day cover. You will be determined, enthusiastic and driven!
Main Functions
1. To provide ingredients, materials and room for lessons and projects, including the
stocking of classrooms with consumables.
2. To assist teachers and students during food technology lessons. To support
groups of students to carry out the practical lesson, as directed by food
technology teaching staff. To prepare display materials and equipment for
parents' evenings, and to clear away. To assist with food preparation for whole
school events, when appropriate.
3. To keep sinks and worktops clean to the standards required by the food
technology teacher: keep stock rooms and equipment clean, tidy and in good
order, including cookers. To maintain aprons in a serviceable condition.
4. Under the supervision of the Director of Learning, maintain stock cupboards by
raising orders, receiving equipment and materials and purchasing of ingredients
for practical lessons.
5. When applicable, to assist the form tutor during registration time, take electronic
registers and provide students with school notices and information.
6. To carry out all washing of items for the Design and Technology department.
7. To carry out administrative tasks for the Design and Technology department -
filing, photocopying, stock-taking etc. To devise appropriate payment procedures
in respect of payments for ingredients by students, linked to the ordering of
ingredients for the curriculum.
8. To assist with the process of sourcing suppliers and the continued development
of suitable ingredient suppliers.
9. To control and store safely all chemicals, flammables and specialised solutions,
ensuring that current Health and Safety, COSHH and ESCC regulations are
adhered to.
