Training & Development

On the job training

The company endeavors to develop the career of every employee and candidate that works for Aspire People.

We have set up training centres around the Midlands in local schools not just for teaching staff but office and technical support staff too.

The collaboration with these schools has helped to improve the level of service our candidates supply to schools.

For example Bristnall Hall Technology College train our administrators on SIMS.NET and offer work experience if required afterwards. This means our administrators are fully qualified to use the school's software.

We are in talks with Plantsbrook and Hodge Hill School about CMIS and Cover Supervisor training. We are also looking for schools in Coventry to offer similar services for candidates living in the East Midlands.

In-House Training for Teachers

Further to this Aspire People hold a number of training sessions throughout the year, many are for NQTs and teachers new to supply but all teachers are welcome to attend. Topics include:

  • Behaviour Management - “You’re not our Teacher”
  • Quick, pacy lesson ideas and plans
  • Classroom management systems & what works
  • Dealing with institutional culture
  • Building relationships
  • What are you expected to reasonably do
  • How to professionally represent yourself
  • End of the day do’s and don’ts
  • How to include TAs and other staff in to lessons
  • Standing out from the crowd
  • Securing  yourself a long-term/permanent job
  • Completing your induction year on supply

“If only all agencies valued candidates the way Aspire People do”

Even though I came from an industry background my consultant genuinely valued the experience I could bring to a school.  She really went that extra mile to find me work by organising training on school IT systems. On top of that she secured me voluntary work to support my Diploma in School Business Management Studies.
