When I started off as an education recruitment consultant, I knew I wanted to make a difference to the education and supply teaching industry. I set up Aspire People in 2004 and had one main aim:
To create an education recruitment agency centred around principled codes of practice, where everything we say we do, we will actually do.
Aspire People has turned in to everything I could have wished it to be. We are proud of our innovative services, our attention to detail with customer service and the strong internal culture we have worked so hard to maintain throughout our journey.
Aspire People are constantly evolving but our recipe for success is consistent throughout the culture of the organisation. Our strategy doesn’t just focus on the long-term, we never lose sight of what we are doing now. Aspire People have really helped me find a number of work placements. My consultant asks for availability every week to ensure that I can work. I like the fact that I don’t feel pressured to go to work when I have other elements to worry about such as Uni. The other good thing is that I get calls and texts occasionally asking how I am and how I am doing with everything. It ensures that I’m happy and not uncomfortable. When I first joined I was given lots of tips and tricks for effective teaching. The good thing is I feel like with the advice my consultant gave me ensured that I could go out and have success with the different schools and lessons I’ve taught.
Aspire have been very influential in my career. After qualifying as a teacher, I was unsuccessful in securing a full-time teaching job. The Payroll department at Aspire People is really efficient. I’m always paid on time, any queries I do have are dealt with efficiently and quickly. The staff are friendly

My consultant has found me work every day which has led to some wonderful long term assignments. When I am sent to an assignment I feel as if I am visiting the school as an ambassador for Aspire People and I am proud to work for what I feel is by far the best teaching agency in the West Midlands.
Even though I came from an industry background my consultant genuinely valued the experience I could bring to a school. She really went that extra mile to find me work by organising training on school IT systems. On top of that she secured me voluntary work to support my Diploma in School Business Management Studies.
Aspire People have always been able to respond to requests with quality staff. Although we use a range of agencies when trying to fill long term we invariably employ the candidate recommended by Aspire People. This is because we have built up a relationship whereby our requirements are known and understood by them. As an Outstanding school at the forefront of educational provision it is essential that every lesson is delivered to the highest standards. The relationship we have with Aspire People is that we can candidly make our requirements known and they are able to choose a candidate that they are confident will meet our needs.
I registered with Aspire People on 27th September and within 7 working days my vetting checks had been completed and I was placed in to a school.
The application process was informative yet friendly and relaxed. Other agencies I registered with were not as friendly and made me feel nervous and unwelcome. I get on really well with my consultant, Kelly. Overall Aspire People is friendly, helpful and professional.
Quality of staff is so high we recently took 2 Aspire cover supervisors on permanently - Aspire’s service is fast, efficient and professional, they have never let me down. I can text them at 7 for cover and when I get in to work there is an email notifying me of who is coming.
I worked with Aspire a few months, I found it difficult securing a full time position and supply was recommended to me. Like everyone who goes in for supply I was very wary and nervous at the start, but my first day of work was great!
Having started as a cover supervisor, Aspire People actively encouraged me to qualify as a teacher and advised me which course to choose. After gaining my PGCE, I had no hesitation in working with them again as I knew there would be regular work and I would be treated professionally. Over the last three years I have been made to feel part of the team and have always felt supported through any difficult times I have had whilst working in education.
Find a recruitment agency that will take the time to meet with you and actually listen to what your school needs. Show them around and let them get a feel for the kinds of pupils within the school. This way your consultant will have a great chance of matching the right candidates to your school. You can build trust up with the agency and in the end save so much time and money. Some years ago, Shenley Academy’s predecessor school had a poor reputation among supply staff. When ever Aspire People send a candidate to us, they love their day, if there is ever any negative feedback I always act upon it. Now they all say they would be happy to come back to Shenley Academy and nothing makes me prouder.
I am now completing my NQT year with a school I was introduced to through Aspire. Mark offered me to do a placement at the school, and this led to the school offering me a position. Had it not have been for Aspire, I don’t think I’d be completing my NQT year this year. I’d definitely recommend Aspire to other NQTs looking for permanent work.
I was impressed with the quality of presentation that my consultant made to me in July, it was following this that I chose to book staff from Aspire People in September. The documentation provided to me about supply staff is the best I have received, providing all the information required clearly. The quality of staff sent to me has been very high and the one very slight problem I had (late arrival of a supply teacher) was dealt with by him straight away. One of the many qualities that I like about Aspire People is their honesty.
Aspire People organised a Work Experience programme for Plantsbrook School. This was a major commitment by Aspire People and the students found the experience very beneficial. It gave them the opportunity to understand commitments of a working environment and develop skills in communication and organisation. We look forward to working with them again.
